Salt Lake City Training Options

Our training programs begin with detailed assessments to evaluate operator experience, equipment familiarity, and jobsite conditions. This allows us to deliver targeted instruction that improves safety, reinforces best practices, and ensures operators are fully prepared for certification and real-world crane operations.

On-Site Training

On-site training is designed for companies that have the facilities and equipment available at their own location and prefer to keep their employees onsite for logistical and operational efficiency. This approach allows operators to train on the exact cranes and equipment they use every day, creating a more relevant and effective learning experience.

All on-site training requires the company to provide the crane or equipment that will be used during training and evaluations. By working within your actual jobsite environment, we are able to incorporate real-world lift scenarios, terrain conditions, and workflow challenges—helping operators build confidence while improving overall jobsite safety and productivity.

Off-Site Training

Off-site training is ideal for companies that do not have the facilities or space to conduct training at their own location. Paradise Crane Consultants will coordinate a suitable training facility in or near the Salt Lake City area to accommodate both classroom instruction and practical evaluations.

While we arrange the training location, the company must still provide the crane or equipment needed for training and evaluations. This ensures operators are tested on the equipment they are familiar with, maintaining consistency between training and real-world operation while still providing a controlled environment for instruction and assessment.

Questions

Find answers to common questions about crane training and certification in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Do you train statewide?

Paradise Crane delivers on-site instruction across Utah, from Salt Lake City to Moab, and beyond. We schedule training at your jobsite, facility, or yard to minimize disruption to your operations.

Can training be held at our site?

Yes. On-site training is our standard approach. We bring instructors and curriculum to your location, allowing your crew to train where they work and reducing travel costs.

Is certification required in Salt Lake City, UT?

Yes. In Utah, crane operators working in construction must hold a certification from an ANAB‑accredited certification body, as required by OSHA’s national crane standard.

In addition to accredited certification, OSHA also requires an employer evaluation. This evaluation must verify thatthe operator is competent to run:

• The specific crane they will be operating
• The configuration in which the crane will be used
• The type of work being performed with that crane

Texas does not issue its own state crane operator license, but employers are responsible for ensuring operators meet both OSHA’s accredited certification requirement and the required employerevaluation.

How much advance notice?

Paradise Crane recommends scheduling four to six weeks in advance. This allows time to coordinate travel, prepare materials, and align with your crew’s availability. Paradise Crane can in some cases accommodate classes booked as late as 7 days in advance, as long as our teaching schedule allows.

What certifications do you offer?

We provide certification preparation for NCCER and support training for crane operators, riggers, signalpersons, and lift directors. Paradise Crane also offers OSHA qualification classes, specialized safety training, including fall protection and confined space training.
